Freiberg/Bydgoszcz, September 23, 2021 - Work has begun on the construction of a wind farm at the Markowice site in Poland. District Administrator Bartosz Nowacki and the mayor of the municipality of Strzelno Dariusz Chudzinski were invited to the groundbreaking ceremony. Together with the management of Sabowind and Sabowind Polska, they symbolically took up the spade and opened the construction process of 13 wind turbines of the type Vestas V100 with 26 MW rated power.
"Wind turbines are a visible proof of active climate and health protection in the municipality of Strzelno and a testimony to the investment-friendly attitude of the mayor. It is an example of a reasonable balance between respect for the environment and nature conservation and positive economic and technological development," said Lidia Paczkowska, Managing Director of Sabowind Polska Sp. z o.o.
"With the groundbreaking ceremony, the energy transition has now also arrived in Strzelno. The wind turbines are not only a clear sign of the fight against the climate crisis, but also bring domestic added value and jobs," emphasizes the mayor of Strzelno Dariusz Chudzinski.
With an annual production of around 300 GWh, all wind turbines will supply around 75,000 households with clean electricity and at the same time save around 100,000 tons of CO2. In total, Sabowind will erect 54 wind turbines with 108 MW at the Pruszcz, Markowice, Piaski and Wyszki sites by 2023. After commissioning of all turbines, Sabowind Service Sp. z o.o. will take over the commercial and technical management.
