Freiberg/Bydgoszcz, September 22, 2021. With a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony, the starting signal was given for the construction of 35 wind turbines at the Pruszcz site in Poland. In the presence of the mayor, the municipal council and the local council, Dr. Rainer Sack, Mandy Bojack (both GF Sabowind) and Lidia Paczkowska (GF Sabowind Polska) ceremonially kicked off the construction of the large-scale project in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodeship.
The construction of all wind turbines of the type Vestas V100 will take approx. 1.5 years, the commissioning is planned in stages from mid 2022 to early 2023.
Dr. Rainer Sack and Lidia Paczkowska expressed their special thanks for the trust placed in Sabowind by the municipality over many years, which has now made the construction of this successful project possible. Mayor Dariusz Wądołowski: "At the beginning of this investment there was an idea to build a wind farm. We were able to overcome any obstacles that arose with our joint efforts. For the municipality, this means not least additional funds for the local cultural and structural infrastructure."
The project makes a significant contribution to the coal phase-out and sends a clear signal for the expansion of renewable energies in Poland. "I have never doubted that renewable energy is the future of energy supply and that we as a municipality should move in this direction," said Piotr Radecki, Chairman of the Pruszcz Municipal Council.
With an annual production of around 300 GWh, all wind turbines will supply around 75,000 households with clean electricity and at the same time save around 100,000 tons of CO2. In total, Sabowind will erect 54 wind turbines with 108 MW at the Pruszcz, Markowice, Piaski and Wyszki sites by 2023. After commissioning of all turbines, Sabowind Service Sp. z o.o. will take over the commercial and technical management.
