Ground-breaking ceremony for expansion of wind farm Artern/Kachstedt
Voigtstedt/Freiberg, 14th of March 2017. Recently, construction vehicles are moving over the area of the wind farm near the commune Voigtstedt next to the motorway A71. The ground-breaking ceremony for the two new wind energy turbines took place in the presence of representatives of the commune, Sabowind GmbH and the manufacturer of the wind turbine.
In 2014 the construction planning of two wind turbines of the type Vestas V126 with a hub height of 137 and 149 meters and a total capacity of 6,400 kWh (both together) has started. Last December Sabowind got the permit from the district Kyffhäuserkreis to build these two turbines. Therefore the project does not need to pass a special auction to get a feed-in compensation. So the feed-in compensation is, based on the renewable energy law 2014, stable over the next 20 years.
Only three months passed by from getting the permission until the beginning of construction. Actually, preparatory measures and ground working for the transport of the wind turbine are taking place. “I am glad that our commune contributes in cooperation with Sabowind to energy revolution” told Uwe Ratayczak, mayor of the commune Voigtstedt. “In spring the foundations will be built, afterwards the towers mounted. If everything stays on schedule we can put the turbines into operation this summer”, explained Maik Hoffmann, site manager of Sabowind GmbH.
The erection of wind turbines is subject to approval according to the Pollution Control Act. Before such a permit is granted, the applicant has to prove in a lengthy action that the planned construction is consistent with the existing nature conservation and pollution control law. Interferences with nature and landscape have to be counterbalanced with appropriate measures. Thus, for example in Seega a horse ban facility will be knocked down and instead fruit trees will be plant. The total costs of compensation measures amounts to 130,000 Euro. As a certified partner of the Thüringer Energie- und GreenTech-Agentur (ThEGA) Sabowind wants to increase the local economic value. On the one side local companies will be assigned and on the other side local charitable projects will be supported.
“We are glad to build these two turbines after four years of planning and support charitable projects of the commune Voigtstedt with annual proceeds out of the energy production.” so Mandy Bojack, managing director of the Sabowind GmbH.
Afterwards, Sabowind Service GmbH will be responsible for the technical and financial management.
