Selected compensating measures
For the erection and operation of wind energy turbines Sabowind puts a lot of energy in finding and planning appropriate compensating measures, while we try to compensate impairments directly at the location together with the local communities. The final agreement of the compensating measures is done by the nature conservation authority. From unsealing areas and plantations up to near-natural waters all measures are possible, which enhance the landscape and provide an ecological surplus for animals and nature.
pond restoration creates habitat for insects, birds, bats
former bathing pond becomes biotope
The restoration of the former bathing pond in Schilbach (Tanna) took place in the context of the erection of Sabowind’s first wind turbine at the wind farm Tanna.
The biotope that came into existence by dismantling the concrete tank takes effect far beyond the restored space. The accretion zone with a successive growing vegetation, improves the habitat conditions for insects, birds and bats. Furthermore, landscape appearance is enhanced by the now near-natural pond.
