Selected compensating measures
For the erection and operation of wind energy turbines Sabowind puts a lot of energy in finding and planning appropriate compensating measures, while we try to compensate impairments directly at the location together with the local communities. The final agreement of the compensating measures is done by the nature conservation authority. From unsealing areas and plantations up to near-natural waters all measures are possible, which enhance the landscape and provide an ecological surplus for animals and nature.
hedge plantation creates territories for many species
plantation of indigenous bushes
The construction of a wind turbine at Zug (Middle Saxony) was compensated by planting a hedge on an area of 1.750 m2 within the community of Bobritzsch-Hilbersdorf.
Besides improving the landscape, the planted indigenous bushes provide food for animals of the agricultural landscape (e.g. bird species such as red-backed shrike, yellowhammer and red kite), create new habitats as well as refuges and promote habitat network. Furthermore, other groups of species, like bats, that are potentially affected by wind turbines, benefit from such landscape structures.
