Wind turbine attracts interested kids to Melaune
The talented friends‘ association from Görlitz asked Sabowind GmbH to open their implemented wind energy turbine in Melaune for one forenoon. In the past, when the talented kids came back from several events and saw the wind turbine in Melaune they often asked questions about wind energy and the installation engineering, which usually could just be answered by experts. Therefore, Sabowind complied with the request and invited all interested kids and parents to look inside of a wind energy turbine.
The turbine of the type Enercon E-101 with a rated power of 3 MW is supplying about 2,800 households with green energy since October, 2014. The wind turbine is a repowering project and generates 60 times more energy in comparison to the older plant. Sabowind informed the kids in the age of 6 to 14 years about planning and approval procedure as well as technical details about the plant. The technical settings within the turbine as well as how to attach climbing equipment was shown to the kids. Within an informal talk all interested kids had the opportunity to ask questions regarding wind energy.
