Wind farm Heldrungen grows by one further wind energy turbine

Freiberg, 29th of November: In the end of October Sabowind got the permit to erect a further wind energy turbine of the type Enercon E-101 in the already existing priority area for wind energy in Heldrungen/Braunsroda.

The wind farm already consists out of eight wind turbines and is located in the east of the highway 71 between Braunsroda and Reinsdorf. Sabowind realised until November 2016 three of the eight wind turbines with a total capacity of 7,700 kilowatt. The new turbines of the type Enercon E-101 with a hub height of 149 meter has a total capacity of three megawatt and will provide clean energy for 1,500 households.

The preparatory measures have been already completed. Depending on the weather conditions, the foundation work will start in November and the completion of the wind turbine is scheduled for the first quarter of 2017. Afterwards, Sabowind Service GmbH will be responsible for the technical and financial management.

The erection of wind turbines is subject to approval according to the Pollution Control Act. Before such a permit is granted, the applicant has to prove in a lengthy action that the planned construction is consistent with the existing nature conser­vation and pollution control law. Interferences with nature and landscape have to be counter­balanced with appropriate measures. Thus, fruit trees, hedges and deciduous trees will be planted to reconstruct scenically structures and improve the habitat functions. The total costs of compen­sation measures amounts to 80,000 Euro. Also, Sabowind as a certified partner of ThEGA, strive to instruct local companies with the implemen­tation of these tasks. Additionally, Sabowind is going to force agreements with non-profit institutions at the commune Reinsdorf.
