Start of erection of wind turbine in Bernsdorf/Gersdorf

Bernsdorf, 14^th of September 2016: In mid August Sabowind got the permit to erect a further wind turbine in an already existing priority area for wind energy. The turbine of the type Enercon E-92 with 138 m hub height and 2,350 kW will be built under the supervision of Sabowind GmbH in a priority area near to Zwickau/Germany. In this area already 13 turbines have been erected, one of them of the type Vestas V90 with 125m hub height by Sabowind in the year 2011.

The ground-breaking was on 12^th of September 2019. In this month, the access roads and crane pads will be built, the foundation will follow within the next months. The turbine shall be erected until the end of this year so it can be put into operation in the first quarter of 2017. Afterwards Sabowind Service GmbH will be responsible for the operational management both technical and financial. Altogether the turbine will provide clean energy for 1,500 households.

The erection of wind turbines is subject to approval according to the Pollution Control Act. Before such a permit is granted, the applicant has to prove in a lengthy action that the planned construction is consistent with the existing nature conser­vation and pollution control law. Interferences with nature and landscape have to be counter­balanced with appropriate measures. Thus, for the erection of this wind turbine measures for the development of biotopes and the protection of birds will be executed. In collab­o­ration with the nature conser­vation authority and a local ornithologist it is planned to reconstruct an island in the big pond near Limbach-Oberfohna. On this island lives a colony of black-headed gulls whose living environment shall be assured. The costs of this measure sum up to app. 60,000 Euro.
