Freiberg/Erfurt, 30. November 2017. The Thuringian Energy and GreenTech Agency (ThEGA) had invited partners and representatives of the wind energy sector to the 2. meeting of the partners of the seal “Fair wind energy in Thuringia” in the ComCenter Bruehl in Erfurt on 30th Nov 2017. During the meeting ThEGA awarded the prize “Gemeinsam und fair geht mehr” for the first time. Sabowind received the award in the category “wind and nature” for the wind project Heldrungen.
With the prize ThEGA awards projects that stick up for more participation and a better acceptance of wind energy and in particular follow the guidelines of the seal “Faire Windenergie in Thüringen” (fair wind energy in Thuringia).
In the opinion of ThEGA the implementation of the project Heldrungen demonstrates a prime example how to succeed in a pro-active and open communication, early and consequent involvement of the different players as well as a close collaboration of all participants involved in the project.
Mandy Bojack, Managing Director of Sabowind GmbH, accepted the award and presented the successful cooperation together with Norbert Enke, mayor of the city of Heldrungen, also talking about the challenges they met together. Enke especially emphasized the stringent fair collaboration with Sabowind and underlined the solution-oriented proceedings at all times. The residents of the town participate in the success of the turbines and see a sustainable surplus for their town, amongst others by successfully implemented compensating measures. “Most of the residents also see the surplus of wind energy in the meantime. We even made opponents to supporters of wind energy”, says Enke.
Since 1991 Sabowind develops national and international wind energy projects and has implemented 261 wind energy turbines with a total rated power of 410 Megawatt so far. The wind energy project Heldrungen consists of three wind energy turbines, two turbines of the type Enercon E-92 with 138 m hub height as well as one Enercon E-115 with 135 m hub height and a total rated power of 7,7 Megawatt.
