n Tanna, which is located in Thuringia, Sabowind GmbH started the construction works on 4th November 2013 for two wind energy turbines of the type Enercon E-101 with a hub height of 149 m and a rated power of 3,05 MW and an Enercon E-92 with a hub height of 138 m and a rated power of 2,35 MW.
In cooperation with the city of Tanna and the District Office of the Saale-Orla-District appropriate compensating measures in the immediate surroundings of the wind farm were defined.
At the end of 2013 a former barn in Künsdorf was torn down as one of these selected measures and humus was filled in. In the coming weeks further comprehensive plantings with domestic broad-leafed trees and shrubs will follow. These measures contribute considerably to the restoration of the surface and the valorization of the landscape.
The second measure is the restoration of the former outdoor swimming pool in the local district of Schilbach, a basin made of concrete and with a sunbathing area. By establishing an aggradation zone a new biotope will be created offering a new habitat for plants, insects, birds and bats. Also this compensating measure will be amended by the plantings of woods.
The value of these compensating measures amounts to 187,000.00 €.
